Guiding Parents Through Child Support Establishment, Modification & Enforcement in Covington and Surrounding Counties
Every child deserves financial stability and care from both parents. When child support issues arise — whether you’re requesting support or being asked to pay — clarity and fairness are key.
At William F. Elliott, P.C., we help families across Covington, Newton, Rockdale, Walton, and Jasper counties navigate Georgia’s child support system with confidence. For over 20 years, Bill Elliott has worked to ensure parents meet their legal obligations while protecting their financial future.

Establishing Support Orders – We calculate fair support based on Georgia guidelines and your family’s actual needs.
Modifying Existing Orders – If your income or expenses change, we help adjust payments legally.
Enforcing Unpaid Support – Through garnishment, contempt, or other legal actions, we ensure compliance.
Special Circumstances – We address special needs, healthcare, and college-related support when appropriate.
Georgia law uses a formula that considers both parents’ incomes, the number of children, and expenses such as childcare, insurance, and education. However, no two families are alike.
Bill Elliott ensures all factors — from hidden income to shared custody arrangements — are accurately represented so that the final support order truly reflects your family’s needs.
You may request a modification if there’s been a significant change in:
Income or employment
Custody or visitation arrangements
Health or educational expenses
The other parent’s compliance with the order
We make the process straightforward and handle the court filings on your behalf.

We're the best
I’m William Elliott, a lifelong advocate for the Covington community and surrounding areas.
Unlike big-city firms that come and go, my roots — and my commitment — are right here in
Newton County.
After earning my B.A. in Political Science from Franklin & Marshall College and my J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, I began practicing law in 1993. Since then, i’ve been honored to serve as a member of both the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of Illinois, as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals and Northern District of Georgia.
For more than two decades, I’ve built my practice in Covington with one goal: to serve families and individuals with honesty, compassion, and strong legal advocacy. My experience as a Juvenile Court Judge in Newton County gave me firsthand insight into how family and youth issues truly affect our community.
Today, I draw on that perspective to guide clients through family law, criminal defense, and juvenile cases with practical solutions and personal attention. If you’re looking for a local attorney who understands both the law and the people behind it, I’m here to help protect what matters most to you.
